The literary festival in the masserie of Fasano
LibriAmo… among the olive trees! is the literary festival that enlivens the Fasano area, in the province of Brindisi, Apulia, every summer. Promoted by the Mondadori Point of Fasano, the event takes literature out of bookstores and immerses it in the landscape of the Apulian countryside: presentations are held in the area's ancient masserie (fortified farmhouses), among century-old olive trees, in a recognizable format that blends books, dialogue, and storytelling.
The heart of the festival is dialogue. Each evening focuses on an author and their book, in conversation with a journalist or moderator, before an audience welcomed into masseria courtyards and gardens transformed into authentic open-air cultural salons. The venues change for each event and include some of the most beautiful rural residences in the Fasano district, from Masseria Villa Verde to Masseria San Francesco, and from Casale del Murgese to Masseria Montenapoleone.
Over the years, the festival has hosted established writers, investigative journalists, and personalities from the world of Italian television and culture. Names that have graced the meetings include Barbara Alberti, Rocío Muñoz Morales, Federica Angeli, Serena Bortone, Raoul Bova, Elvira Serra, Chiara Francini, Nando dalla Chiesa, and Nicola Gratteri, often interviewed by television hosts such as Alberto Matano and Massimo Giletti. The program alternates between fiction, memoirs, civic issues, and current affairs.
More than just a single appointment, LibriAmo… among the olive trees! is a widespread journey that accompanies the summer in the Municipality of Fasano, spanning the town center, the coastal strip of Torre Canne, and the inland masserie. This itinerant formula enhances the local rural heritage and turns every evening into an opportunity to discover a new corner of the territory alongside the book.
