The author-led literary festival in Arce, featuring fiction, non-fiction, and poetry
Libri di Primavera is the literary festival of Arce, a village in the Ciociaria area of the Frosinone province, in southern Lazio. Promoted by the Municipality of Arce through the Department of Culture and Tourism, in collaboration with the cultural association La Lanterna and under the patronage of the Lazio Region, the event transforms the Sala Teatro Comunale in Piazza Umberto I into a meeting place for authors and readers every spring.
The formula is simple and effective: a series of closely scheduled events, each dedicated to an author who presents and discusses their work with the audience. The program balances different genres, creating a true journey through fiction, non-fiction, poetry, and personal testimony. Alongside major civil and social themes, local voices are also featured, creating a continuous dialogue between national perspectives and local roots.
Admission to the meetings is free until capacity is reached, a choice that reflects the festival's mission: to make culture accessible and turn reading into a collective experience. Over the years, the event has grown, bringing not only authors but also experiences, paths, and visions to Arce, establishing itself as one of the most anticipated cultural events of the Ciociaria spring.
Nestled among the hills of the Liri Valley, Arce is a village with a long history, dominated by the remains of the medieval fortress of Rocca d'Arce. Hosting a literary festival of national scope in such an intimate setting is part of the charm of Libri di Primavera: an invitation to discover, along with the books, an authentic corner of inland Lazio, far from the main tourist circuits but rich in landscapes, traditions, and hospitality.
The 2026 edition of the festival, scheduled from April 19 to June 11 at the Sala Teatro Comunale in Arce, has been presented as "a further step up in quality": six meetings combining fiction, non-fiction, and poetry, with authors and themes capable of addressing current events. Admission remains free until capacity is reached.
The cycle opens with local poetic voices and continues by alternating major civil themes and the search for meaning, concluding with one of the most intense voices in contemporary Italian fiction.
All meetings take place at the Sala Teatro Comunale in Piazza Umberto I in Arce.
Arce is located in the Liri Valley, in the province of Frosinone. By car, it can be reached via the A1 Milan-Naples motorway (Ceprano or Frosinone exits) and the Sora-Cassino expressway. The Arce-Rocca d'Arce-Fontana Liri railway station is on the Roccasecca-Avezzano line.
The meetings take place in the Sala Teatro Comunale in Piazza Umberto I, in the center of Arce. Admission is free until all available seats are filled; arriving early is recommended.
