A festival for independent short films

The Ceprano Film Festival is a cinematic event entirely dedicated to short films. It was founded with the goal of turning the town of Ceprano, in the heart of the Ciociaria region, into a stage for emerging directors. The aim is to offer both Italian and international filmmakers a concrete opportunity to express their artistic vision and bring short, free, and independent cinema to the public's attention. Organized by the Nebulosa Film Association, the festival has quickly established itself as one of the most dynamic events in the Frosinone province's film scene.

The 2026 sixth edition

The sixth edition is scheduled from September 10 to 12, 2026, hosted as always in the main hall of the historic SuperCinema in Ceprano. Every year, the festival attracts a vast number of submissions from across the globe. The official selection features a curated list of finalist short films, evaluated by a jury of prominent figures from the Italian film industry, whose members are announced starting in July. Three days of screenings, meetings with directors, and live music performances bring the event to life, with free admission until capacity is reached.

Competition categories

• Official Selection: The finalist short films in competition, chosen from hundreds of entries and judged by a professional jury;
• Music Video Section: A selection of music videos evaluated with the input of music industry experts;
• Out of Competition: A space reserved for local filmmakers, giving a voice to the talent of the Ciociaria region.

The SuperCinema, a historic venue

The beating heart of the festival is the SuperCinema in Ceprano, a single-screen theater active since the post-war period, which serves as a vital cultural landmark for the entire Liri Valley. Screening films in this historic venue, in front of a passionate audience, adds a symbolic value to the competition that filmmakers deeply appreciate.

Ceprano and the Ciociaria region

The town of Ceprano is located in the province of Frosinone, in southern Lazio, centrally positioned within the area historically known as Ciociaria. An ancient settlement of Volscian and Roman origin overlooking the Liri River, Ceprano blends the memory of its past with a lively contemporary cultural vocation, of which the Film Festival is one of the most recognizable expressions today. For cinema enthusiasts, the event is also an opportunity to discover an authentic and still-undiscovered corner of Lazio.
