Libri Come – Book and Reading Festival is the major literary event that enlivens the Auditorium Parco della Musica Ennio Morricone every year, located in the Flaminio district of Rome, in the Lazio Region. Produced and curated by the Fondazione Musica per Roma, the festival transforms the spaces designed by Renzo Piano for three days into a meeting place for authors, publishers, and readers, featuring dozens of events across halls, foyers, and the famous outdoor Cavea.
A guiding word every year
The formula that has made Libri Come recognizable is its annual theme: a keyword around which meetings, masterclasses, and art exhibitions revolve. After editions dedicated to concepts such as memory, happiness, and peace, the event continues to interpret the present through books, creating a dialogue between fiction, non-fiction, poetry, and journalism. Each edition pairs major names in international literature with the most significant voices on the Italian scene.
Meetings, readings, and exhibitions
The Libri Come program weaves together various formats: book presentations, dialogues between authors, masterclasses, readings, and screenings. A special role is entrusted each year to an artist or street artist, who creates the exhibition hosted in the Auditorium spaces, inspired by the edition's theme. There is no shortage of events in collaboration with RAI, including live radio and television broadcasts, which extend the festival well beyond the audience present in the halls.

Libri Come — edition 2026
Libri Come 2026: Democracy
The seventeenth edition of Libri Come, curated by Michele De Mieri, Rosa Polacco, and Marino Sinibaldi for the Fondazione Musica per Roma, chose Democracy as its theme. From March 20 to 22, 2026, the Auditorium Parco della Musica hosted Italian and international writers, journalists, and scholars to explore this "world-word" through literature, non-fiction, and current events. The traditional art exhibition was entrusted to the Roman street artist Alice Pasquini.
Guests included foreign authors such as Anne Applebaum, Yascha Mounk, Tahar Ben Jelloun, David Quammen, Marie Darrieussecq, Samanta Schweblin, and Dinaw Mengestu, alongside Italian voices like Massimo Recalcati, Roberto Saviano, Niccolò Ammaniti, Maurizio de Giovanni, Emanuele Trevi, Zerocalcare, and Nobel laureate Giorgio Parisi.

Friday, March 20
Opening of the event with a presentation dedicated to Giovanni Sartori and his "Democracy and Definitions", with Giuliano Amato and Luca Verzichelli.
Saturday, March 21
- Dialogue between Yascha Mounk and Ezio Mauro on democracy in Europe and the United States.
- Ece Temelkuran on "Democracy and Migrants".
- Anne Applebaum on "Democracy and Autocracies".
- Lecture by Massimo Recalcati on "Democracy and School".
- Appointments with Roberto Saviano on democracy and crime, and with Luciano Fontana and Marino Sinibaldi on democracy and information.
- Special RAI Fahrenheit and the 50th anniversary of Prima Pagina.
Sunday, March 22
- Silent Book Party in the Cavea (12:00 PM).
- Closing event (8:00 PM) with Antonio Scurati, Franco Buffoni, Maria Grazia Calandrone, and Valerio Magrelli.
- Live RAI radio and television broadcasts.
The thematic exhibition signed by Alice Pasquini was open for the entire duration of the festival.

Getting there
The Auditorium Parco della Musica Ennio Morricone is located at Viale Pietro de Coubertin, 30, in the Flaminio district of Rome. By metro: Line A to Flaminio, then tram 2 to the Piazza Mancini terminus. Numerous bus lines stop nearby. Those arriving by car will find a large paid underground parking lot within the complex.
