About LibrArte Festival

LibrArte Festival is the historic Folignano Book Fair, in the heart of the Province of Ascoli Piceno. For five days in May, the Municipality transforms into a large, widespread cultural square: over thirty events including meetings with national authors, art exhibitions, workshops for schools, an independent publishing fair, and literary treks. The evenings at PalaRozzi in Villa Pigna attract thousands of people, in a free event that combines books, community, and creativity in the Marche region.

A book fair born in schools

LibrArte Festival is one of the longest-running cultural events in the Province of Ascoli Piceno: born as the Folignano Book Fair in the mid-nineties, it will reach its thirty-second edition in 2026. The event is promoted by the Municipality of Folignano together with the ISC Folignano Maltignano, with the contribution of Fondazione Carisap and Bim Tronto, and has maintained a strong link with the world of schools, from which it originated, over the years.

Five days of widespread culture

For almost a week, the territory of Folignano becomes an open-air stage: events take place at the PalaRozzi in Villa Pigna, the venue for all evening events, but also in schools, the playroom, public parks, and urban spaces of the town. The program, which exceeds thirty events each year, combines meetings with authors, exhibitions, shows, creative workshops, an independent publishing fair, and literary walks in the green hills surrounding the town.

National guests

The evenings at PalaRozzi are the heart of the festival and bring well-known names from the Italian cultural scene to Folignano: writers, journalists, science communicators, cartoonists, actors, and chefs. In recent editions, personalities such as Matteo Bussola, Luca Pappagallo, Mario Tozzi, and Valerio Aprea have taken the stage, attracting thousands of spectators over a few evenings.

Workshops and exhibitions

The mornings are mainly dedicated to schoolchildren, with creative writing workshops, journeys in the garden of books, educational apiaries, and nature activities. Each edition is also accompanied by a thematic exhibition curated by local artistic realities, offering an interdisciplinary path between art and literature.

Folignano and the Marche region

Folignano is a small Municipality in the Marche Region a few kilometers from Ascoli Piceno, nestled in the hilly landscape of the Piceno area. The LibrArte Festival represents an identity event for the local community, capable of combining the educational dimension of its school origins with a national-level cultural offering, always with free admission.
