A summer of free concerts in Piazza Corrado Cagli, on the Ionian coast of Messina
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
The Letojanni Summer Festival is the highlight of the summer in Letojanni, a lively seaside town on the Ionian coast in the Province of Messina, Sicily. Throughout the season, from July to the end of August, Piazza Corrado Cagli transforms into a massive open-air stage, just a short walk from the promenade and the beaches that have made this stretch of coastline, between Taormina and Messina, so famous.
The festival's winning formula is simple and beloved: free-admission concerts featuring top-tier national artists, alternating with entertainment evenings, DJ sets, and square parties. This choice attracts thousands of people every summer, both residents and tourists, making Letojanni one of the most vibrant destinations for summer nights in the Messina area.
Over the years, the festival has brought stars of the Italian music scene to the square: artists such as Anna Tatangelo, Fabrizio Moro, Lorenzo Fragola, Leo Gassmann, Clara, and Mida have graced the stage in Piazza Cagli, alongside evenings hosted by well-known radio and television personalities. There is no shortage of festive spectacles, such as the famous Ferragosto foam party, designed for younger audiences.
The Letojanni Summer Festival is about more than just music: the event is deeply intertwined with local traditions and traditionally concludes with the Fish Festival, a historic gastronomic celebration that brings seafood specialties and Sicilian street food to the square. It is the moment when music, flavor, and the town's maritime identity merge into one great end-of-summer party.
All events take place in Piazza Corrado Cagli, in the center of Letojanni (ZIP code 98037), easily accessible on foot from most of the town's accommodations. The event is organized by the municipal administration together with the local Pro Loco, with the support of local businesses.
The Letojanni Summer Festival 2026 is expected to renew the summer appointment that brings Piazza Corrado Cagli to life every year in Letojanni, in the Province of Messina, with free concerts and shows throughout the months of July and August.
At the moment, the dates and program for the 2026 edition have not yet been announced by the municipal administration and the Pro Loco. Based on previous editions, it is reasonable to expect a festival concentrated between July and the end of August, with the usual grand finale linked to the Fish Festival. The detailed program and the artists will be announced later on the official channels of the Municipality of Letojanni.
Letojanni is located on the Ionian coast of Messina, along the SS114 road. By train, the Letojanni station is served by the Messina–Catania line; by car, it can be reached from the Taormina/Letojanni exit of the A18 Messina–Catania motorway. The nearest airport is Catania-Fontanarossa.
The concerts and shows of the Letojanni Summer Festival take place in Piazza Corrado Cagli, in the town center, with free admission. Events are primarily held in the evening during the months of July and August.
On nights featuring major concerts, the square fills up quickly: it is advisable to arrive early. Letojanni is very popular in the summer, so it is recommended to book accommodation well in advance.
