A summer food and wine journey through the historic streets of Mozzagrogna
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
Le Notti del Vino is the largest and most widespread wine event of the Italian summer, promoted by the National Association of Wine Cities, which brings together over 500 municipalities with a strong viticultural heritage. In August, the festival makes a stop in Mozzagrogna, a small village in the province of Chieti, Abruzzo, which is a member of this network as a Wine City.
The heart of the event is a traveling food and wine route that winds through the streets of the historic center, starting and centering around Piazza San Rocco. Along the way, visitors can taste local wines and traditional products, rediscovering the winemaking heritage of the Sangro-Aventino area, one of the most renowned regions for Abruzzo viticulture.
The evenings are not just about wine: the program features live music, street performers, and a children's play area, designed to make the festival accessible to the whole family. The result is a convivial atmosphere where the town's squares and alleys come to life until late at night with roaming performances and tastings.
The Mozzagrogna stop is part of a busy calendar that, in the 2025 edition, involved several Abruzzo municipalities including Paglieta, Tollo, Rocca San Giovanni, Fossacesia, Atessa, and Alanno. The national coordination is managed by the Association of Wine Cities, in collaboration with local Pro Loco associations and regional sommeliers, with the goal of promoting the winemaking heritage and the communities of these wine-growing villages.
For the Municipality of Mozzagrogna, Le Notti del Vino represents a key moment for promoting wine tourism and the excellence of the Chieti territory. Dates for the 2026 edition have not yet been announced: it is recommended to follow the channels of the Municipality and the Association of Wine Cities for the updated calendar.
