Music, culture, and community in the courtyard of the Centro Elsa Morante
The Laurentino SpringFest is one of the most anticipated spring events in the Laurentino district (Municipality IX of Rome, in the Lazio region). Every year, for several days, the courtyard of the Centro Culturale Elsa Morante on Piazzale Elsa Morante comes alive with concerts, shows, debates, and stalls, becoming a major meeting point for local residents and visitors from across the city.
Founded in 2022 by a group of local associations, the festival has grown with each edition to become a cornerstone of the cultural and social life of Laurentino 38, one of the most distinctive neighborhoods in Rome's southern suburbs.
The program is intentionally multidisciplinary. The stage set up in the courtyard hosts live concerts by bands and artists of various genres, theater and dance performances, stand-up comedy nights, and DJ sets. Significant space is dedicated to emerging local artists, who find a platform here to showcase their talent.
Alongside the performances, the festival offers debates and meetings on topics dear to the neighborhood, such as the role of public spaces, civic participation, and urban regeneration: a way to combine entertainment with reflection on community life.
The convivial side of the event is managed by craft beer and street food stalls that enliven the courtyard throughout the festival. There are also stands from local associations and small businesses, highlighting the social and solidarity-driven fabric of Laurentino.
Laurentino SpringFest is a self-managed, free-entry event promoted by organizations such as AttivaMente, Concinnitas APS, the Collettivo Ragazzacce, the Libera Roma IX branch, and local scout groups, with the patronage of the Municipality of Rome IX and the RomaNatura Regional Authority. Proceeds from food and drink sales are reinvested in cultural initiatives and urban regeneration projects in the district, ranging from the maintenance of sports facilities to activities for young people.
The festival is held in the courtyard of the Centro Culturale Elsa Morante, in Piazzale Elsa Morante, in the Laurentino district, just a short distance from the EUR area in southern Rome. It is a public space that, thanks to the event, returns to being the beating heart of neighborhood life for a few days.
For its fifth edition, Laurentino SpringFest extended the festivities to four days, from May 29 to June 1, 2026. As per tradition, the courtyard of the Centro Culturale Elsa Morante was filled with live music, performances, and social gatherings, confirming the event as one of the most cherished spring appointments in the Laurentino district of Rome.
Concerts, theater, dance, stand-up comedy, and DJ sets alternated on stage, while craft beer and street food stalls, along with local association booths, enlivened the space throughout the event.
The fifth edition of Laurentino SpringFest took place over four days, from May 29 to June 1, 2026, in the courtyard of the Centro Culturale Elsa Morante, with free admission.
The full line-up with daily schedules was announced by the organizers on official social media channels (Facebook and Instagram) in the weeks leading up to the event.
The Centro Culturale Elsa Morante is located in the Laurentino district, in the southern part of Rome, near the EUR area. By metro, take Line B (get off at EUR area stops, such as EUR Fermi or Laurentina) and continue by local bus. By car, it is easily accessible from Via Laurentina and the Grande Raccordo Anulare.
Admission to the festival is free. Craft beer, street food, and other stall offerings are available for purchase, with proceeds supporting the neighborhood's cultural initiatives.
Performances take place mainly in the late afternoon and evening: it is the perfect opportunity for an evening stroll in the neighborhood. For the updated program and line-up, it is recommended to follow the event's official social media channels.
