Lake Funk Street Band – Traveling Concert

A stage-free concert in the heart of Val di Fassa

The Lake Funk Street Band brings its traveling concert to the center of Canazei, a town in the Val di Fassa in the province of Trento, in the heart of Trentino-Alto Adige. This event flips the traditional concert concept on its head: no stage, no seating, and no distance between artists and the audience. The musicians move along the town streets, turning every corner into a new stop for the show, where listeners become an integral part of the celebration.

The Lake Garda Band

Born on the shores of Lake Garda, the Lake Funk Street Band is one of the first funky marching bands in Northern Italy. With over ten years of experience, the group has brought its music to squares, festivals, and events across the north, evolving the idea of a local village fair into a traveling concert experience. Brass, percussion, and choreography create a show in constant motion, built on direct interaction with the spectators.

The Repertoire

The musical program spans various genres, all reimagined with energetic and original arrangements:

• Funk, from classic 60s and 70s sounds to more modern reinterpretations
• 90s Dance, featuring the greatest hits to dance along to
• Jazz and international tracks reinterpreted with a funky twist

The Route in Canazei

For the occasion, Strèda Roma and Strèda de Parèda are closed to traffic and transformed into a grand promenade dedicated to music and the meeting of locals and guests. The show takes place in the evening and crosses the town center, involving the audience throughout the entire route. In case of bad weather, the concert will be held indoors at the Cinema Teatro Marmolada, ensuring the event goes ahead in any condition.

The event is part of the rich summer calendar of Val di Fassa, nestled among the most famous mountains of the Dolomites.
