Lagosanto-Ferrara Cycling Tour

A free ride in the lower Ferrara region

The Lagosanto-Ferrara Cycling Tour is one of the events in the cycling calendar of the lower plain, a self-managed, free-pace and non-competitive tour that invites you to get on your bike without a stopwatch or ranking. The meeting point is set in the central Piazza Vittorio Veneto in Lagosanto, a small municipality of just under five thousand inhabitants overlooking the plain of the Po Delta, in the Province of Ferrara, in the heart of Emilia-Romagna.

The UISP tour formula

The event is part of the cycling tours promoted by SDA Ciclismo UISP Ferrara and is organized by A.S.D. Cicloclub Estense, a historic club in the Ferrara area. The day is valid for the UISP Tour Test: participants earn points in the seasonal ranking dedicated to enthusiasts who regularly attend the circuit events. Participation is open to UISP, ACSI, FCI members and affiliated organizations, with a simple and accessible formula.

The territory: between embankments, hamlets, and the Po di Volano

Cycling around Lagosanto means traversing a quiet and bright plain landscape, made up of reclaimed fields, embankments, and pumping stations that tell the story of the reclamation of the Delta lands. The hamlets of Marozzo and Vaccolino, with its ancient 19th-century pumping station, and the cycle paths along the Po di Volano offer an ideal setting for cycle tourism: low-traffic roads, few elevation changes, and that authentic atmosphere of the Ferrara waterlands.
