Signature jazz arrives in Torrazza Piemonte, featuring major concerts and multidisciplinary fusions.
La Tur Jazz Festival is the vibrant new jazz event in Torrazza Piemonte, a small town in the province of Turin overlooking the Po Valley. Founded in 2025 by pianist and composer Emanuele Sartoris, a Torrazza native and the festival's artistic director, the event has quickly brought prominent names in Italian jazz to an intimate and welcoming setting, where musical excellence meets the convivial spirit of a local celebration.
The festival follows a widespread format: Piazza del Municipio serves as the main stage for major evening concerts, while other events animate municipal spaces and community hubs. All events are free of charge, a deliberate choice to introduce jazz to a broad and diverse audience, from dedicated enthusiasts to curious newcomers.
Alongside the concerts, the program offers a wider cultural dimension, including photography exhibitions, book presentations dedicated to jazz legends, and in-depth discussions. A distinctive feature of the event is its social commitment: the festival brings music to unexpected places, including concerts dedicated to the residents of the local nursing home.
The festival has two souls. On one hand, it offers tributes to the great masters of world jazz, from Charlie Parker to Chet Baker, reinterpreted by top-tier ensembles. On the other, it explores research and experimentation through multidisciplinary performances that weave together music, poetry, and even fragrance—a dialogue between different arts that defines Sartoris's personal artistic direction.
Located along the Po River and well-connected to Turin and Chivasso, the town of Torrazza Piemonte provides the ideal setting for a human-scale festival. The event fits into the rich Piedmontese jazz scene—of which the Turin Jazz Festival is the most famous highlight—bringing great music to smaller centers in the Canavese area and helping to promote the region through culture.
The second edition of La Tur Jazz Festival was held in Torrazza Piemonte over the weekend of April 18-19, 2026, confirming its free-admission format and the artistic direction of pianist Emanuele Sartoris. Highlights included the Emanuele Cisi Quartet, a tribute to the music of Chet Baker, and the multidisciplinary show 'Sinestesie' featuring pianists Umberto Petrin, Emanuele Sartoris, and Federica Bertot, where music, poetry, and fragrance intertwined in a unique sensory experience. The festival combined great concerts, culture, and social awareness, with a special performance dedicated to the residents of the local nursing home.
Torrazza Piemonte is located in the province of Turin, along the Po River. By car, it is accessible via the A4 Turin-Milan motorway (Chivasso exits). By train, Chivasso station is the most convenient, with onward connections by bus or car to Torrazza.
All festival events are free of charge.
