In the heart of Piceno, in the province of Ascoli Piceno, the village of Monteprandone participates every year in the Romantic Night in the Most Beautiful Villages of Italy, the major national event promoted by the association "I Borghi più Belli d'Italia" (The Most Beautiful Villages of Italy). For one evening, usually around the summer solstice, the historic centre dresses up for love and lights up with themed lights, candles, and decorations, offering residents and visitors an intimate and secluded atmosphere.

A national event, a local soul

The Romantic Night involves about two hundred villages throughout Italy every year, with over a thousand scattered initiatives: open-air concerts, guided walks, light installations, dinners under the stars, and symbolic moments like the famous midnight toast and kiss. Each village interprets the theme of love in its own way, enhancing its most evocative streets, squares, and views. Monteprandone, part of the prestigious circuit of the Most Beautiful Villages of Italy, brings the charm of its historic Marche centre, linked to the figure of San Giacomo della Marca, to this national calendar.

Atmosphere and spirit of the evening

In Monteprandone, the evening focuses on the intimacy of the places: the village is decorated with a theme, the streets of the centre come alive with music, and the most characteristic spaces, such as the municipal washhouse (Lavatoio comunale) and Via degli Orti, become stages for concerts, theatrical performances, and romantic walks.
