A toast in the heart of Piceno

Cantine al Borgo is the wine festival that every year, in mid-June, enlivens the historic center of Monteprandone, in the province of Ascoli Piceno (Marche). For three consecutive evenings, the streets and squares of the medieval village are filled with tasting stands, aromas of local cuisine, and musical notes, in a formula that combines food and wine, landscape, and social interaction. Monteprandone is part of the circuit of the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy, and it is precisely this setting, made of panoramic views of the Tronto Valley and the Adriatic Sea, that gives the event its unmistakable character.

Over twenty wineries take center stage

The heart of the event is the local wineries: over twenty wine-producing realities from the Piceno and Marche regions man the stands set up along the route, offering their wines for tasting and sharing their connection to their land of origin. It's an opportunity to discover the great red and white wines of the province, from Rosso Piceno to Offida DOCG, as well as labels from lesser-known small producers.

How the tasting works

Participation is simple: upon entry, you purchase a kit with a glass and a holder for the glass, and a predetermined number of tastings. Traditional packages include a route for 6 glasses and a larger one for 10 glasses, plus a deposit for the glass. Along the village, there is also a food area with typical Marche traditional dishes, to be enjoyed while strolling between tastings.

The Romantic Night

One of the evenings coincides with the Romantic Night of the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy, the national event that simultaneously lights up the villages in the circuit. In Monteprandone, the evening is enhanced by sunset concerts, live music, and evocative walks in the historic center, in an intimate and cozy atmosphere that highlights the beauty of the illuminated village.

An event for the whole territory

Organized by ASD Monteprandone with the patronage of the Municipality and the support of local organizations and institutions in the Piceno area, the event attracts thousands of visitors each year from San Benedetto del Tronto, Centobuchi, and the entire Riviera. To facilitate attendance, free shuttle buses are usually provided from nearby towns. Cantine al Borgo is now a regular fixture of the Piceno summer, capable of combining the promotion of Marche wine with the enhancement of one of the region's most charming villages.
