The JUKA Vintl Anniversary Concert — 25 Years

In the summer of 2026, the Jugendkapelle Vintl, the local youth band known as JUKA Vintl, celebrates its 25th anniversary with a Jubiläumskonzert (anniversary concert) and a full three-day musical festival. The event takes place in Vandoies/Vintl, a municipality in the Lower Puster Valley in the province of Bolzano, in the heart of Trentino-Alto Adige.

A youth band turning 25

Founded around 2001, JUKA Vintl is the ensemble that introduces the town's youth to band music, a tradition deeply rooted in South Tyrol and protected by the Verband Südtiroler Musikkapellen (VSM), the association of South Tyrolean brass bands. Over a quarter of a century, the band has accompanied the growth of entire generations of young people, alternating rehearsals, concerts, twinning programs with other youth bands, and community moments. The 25-year milestone is celebrated with a special event, designed as a village festival open to all.

The festival program

The event spans three days in late July, culminating in the solemn anniversary concert. The highlight is on Sunday, when JUKA Vintl performs the Jubiläumskonzert before the local audience and guest bands. Surrounding the concert are typical South Tyrolean festival days, with live music, food, and conviviality under the marquee, in the style of the local Zeltfest. Participation is intended as a free and convivial moment for the entire Vandoies community.

Vandoies and the Puster Valley

Vandoies/Vintl is located at the entrance to the Puster Valley, between hamlets like Vandoies di Sopra (Obervintl) and Vandoies di Sotto (Niedervintl), in a mountain territory with a strong bilingual Italian-German character. Village life here revolves traditionally around brass bands, choirs, and volunteer associations: the JUKA Vintl anniversary concert fits perfectly into this cultural fabric, highlighting the role of young people in the popular music of Trentino-Alto Adige.
