The 25th-anniversary concert of the Vandoies youth band
In the summer of 2026, the Jugendkapelle Vintl, the local youth band known as JUKA Vintl, celebrates its 25th anniversary with a Jubiläumskonzert (anniversary concert) and a full three-day musical festival. The event takes place in Vandoies/Vintl, a municipality in the Lower Puster Valley in the province of Bolzano, in the heart of Trentino-Alto Adige.
Founded around 2001, JUKA Vintl is the ensemble that introduces the town's youth to band music, a tradition deeply rooted in South Tyrol and protected by the Verband Südtiroler Musikkapellen (VSM), the association of South Tyrolean brass bands. Over a quarter of a century, the band has accompanied the growth of entire generations of young people, alternating rehearsals, concerts, twinning programs with other youth bands, and community moments. The 25-year milestone is celebrated with a special event, designed as a village festival open to all.
The event spans three days in late July, culminating in the solemn anniversary concert. The highlight is on Sunday, when JUKA Vintl performs the Jubiläumskonzert before the local audience and guest bands. Surrounding the concert are typical South Tyrolean festival days, with live music, food, and conviviality under the marquee, in the style of the local Zeltfest. Participation is intended as a free and convivial moment for the entire Vandoies community.
Vandoies/Vintl is located at the entrance to the Puster Valley, between hamlets like Vandoies di Sopra (Obervintl) and Vandoies di Sotto (Niedervintl), in a mountain territory with a strong bilingual Italian-German character. Village life here revolves traditionally around brass bands, choirs, and volunteer associations: the JUKA Vintl anniversary concert fits perfectly into this cultural fabric, highlighting the role of young people in the popular music of Trentino-Alto Adige.
The 2026 edition marks the 25th anniversary of the Vandoies youth band. The festival spans three days: Friday, July 24 (opening evening), Saturday, July 25 (full day of festivities), and Sunday, July 26, with the concluding Jubiläumskonzert. The anniversary concert is the most anticipated moment, with JUKA Vintl taking center stage.
The dates are confirmed by the calendars of local bands (Musikkapelle Kiens, Musikkapelle Pfunders) and Puster Valley tourist portals. The detailed musical program, including the repertoire and final times, will be published by the organizers in the weeks leading up to the event.
Vandoies/Vintl is located at the entrance to the Puster Valley, in the province of Bolzano. By car: A22 Brenner motorway, exit Bressanone/Val Pusteria, then SS49 towards Brunico. By train: the Puster Valley railway (Fortezza-San Candido line) stops at the Vandoies station.
The anniversary festival takes place in late July 2026, with the solemn concert scheduled for Sunday, July 26. The festival days include both daytime and evening events.
The event is popular and community-oriented, suitable for families. For final schedules and details, it is advisable to check the channels of the Jugendkapelle Vintl and the Puster Valley tourist portals.
