The third round of the national electric enduro championship, in the heart of the Garfagnana
On Sunday, May 24, 2026, the Municipality of Gallicano, in the Garfagnana region (province of Lucca, Tuscany), hosts the third round of the Italian E-Bike Enduro Championship and Italian Cup, the national circuit dedicated to pedal-assisted mountain bikes, organized under the aegis of the Italian Motorcycling Federation (FMI). The event was officially included in the 2026 FMI National E-Bike Calendar, approved by resolution no. 253 on January 12, 2026.
Gallicano is the third of six national stages of the season, positioned between the Brescia event (April 12) and the Aprica event (June 7). Its inclusion in the calendar recognizes the Garfagnana territory for its high technical, logistical, and environmental standards, attracting riders from all over Italy, teams, media, and industry enthusiasts to this corner of the Apennines. For Garfagnana, this is a significant achievement, marking its entry into the circuit of major national electric enduro events.
The race covers a total distance of approximately 40 kilometers, to be tackled in two loops: a first loop of 28 km and a second loop of 12 km. The course features three timed special stages that determine the rankings, alternating between fast sections and more technical sectors through the trails and woods surrounding the town.
Pedal-assisted enduro is a young and rapidly growing discipline: riders tackle a mixed course and are timed only during the special stages, generally on descents or technical terrain, while transfers connect one stage to the next. The electric component of e-bikes allows riders to handle significant elevation changes, making the discipline spectacular and accessible, with categories for men, women, youth, and masters.
Beyond the competitive aspect, the Gallicano stage is an opportunity to showcase the Garfagnana and its extraordinary heritage of trails, woods, and Apennine landscapes. The arrival of the championship caravan brings the town to life for the entire day, with paddocks, technical support, and spectators, confirming the province of Lucca as one of the emerging destinations for two-wheeled sports tourism.
The third round of the 2026 Italian E-Bike Enduro Championship and Italian Cup was held in Gallicano on Sunday, May 24th. The race, originally scheduled for May 10th and later moved to the 24th for logistical reasons, brought the stars of national electric enduro to the Garfagnana. An event that confirmed the Lucca territory as one of the key venues for the discipline.
Total course of approximately 40 km divided into two loops (first loop 28 km, second loop 12 km) with three timed special stages:
