Irsina's Farming Roots

In Irsina, a village in the province of Matera listed among the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy, the Agriculture Festival was established in 2026 to bring a sector fundamental to the territory's history, economy, and identity back to the forefront. The inaugural edition, hosted in the spaces of the former Agricultural Consortium, was a great public success, confirming the community's strong connection to the land.

Machinery, Products, and Tradition

The event brings together over thirty exhibitors: agricultural producers, companies, and machinery dealers, with tractors, combine harvesters, and modern equipment alongside traditional rural tools, in an exhibition that tells the story of the past and future of work in the fields. There are also tastings of local products, testimonies about rural culture, live music, and moments of conviviality.

A Look at the Future of Inland Areas

Alongside the exhibition, the festival offers an institutional discussion on the future of inland areas, with agriculture and tourism as drivers of development. Promoted by the Municipality of Irsina along with the Arenacea cooperative and the relevant departments, the event combines tradition and innovation, celebrating the roots of the Matera village while looking at the territory's prospects.
