An international choral festival in the heart of the Alps

The International Choir Festival in Campo Tures/Sand in Taufers is one of the most evocative highlights of the cultural calendar in the municipality of Campo Tures, located in the Autonomous Province of Bolzano/Bozen, South Tyrol. Proudly dubbed "Das Festival der Tausend Chöre" (The Festival of a Thousand Choirs), the event draws dozens of European choral groups every June to the stunning Tures and Aurina Valleys—a natural amphitheater of mountains and forests that provides the perfect backdrop for days dedicated entirely to vocal music.

Festival venues

The concert evenings take place in two highly symbolic locations. The Pfarrkirche St. Johann (St. John's Parish Church) hosts the evening concerts of the visiting choirs, offering immersive acoustics and an intimate atmosphere perfect for sacred and polyphonic singing. The highlight is the Galakonzert, a grand gala concert that brings all participating groups together on stage at the Festpavillon, the festival pavilion in Sand in Taufers, located on Josef-Jungmann-Straße.

What makes this festival special is its international spirit: alongside South Tyrolean and Italian choirs, ensembles from various European countries take the stage.
