The antique, vintage, and modern market in the historic centre of Budrio
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
Once a month, on the third Sunday, the historic centre of Budrio (Metropolitan City of Bologna, Emilia-Romagna) comes alive with Incanti e Mercanti, the market dedicated to antiques and items from yesteryear. Stalls and stands extend from the historic squares to Piazzale della Gioventù, occupying a route that includes Piazza Filopanti, Via Bissolati, Via Marconi, Via Verdi, and Piazza Matteotti. An entire morning (and a full day in non-summer months) to spend strolling among the goods displayed outdoors, in a compact and welcoming urban setting.
With about 250 exhibitors, Incanti e Mercanti is one of the richest markets in the Bolognese plain. The offering is wide and varied, designed for both the experienced collector and the curious visitor:
Among the stalls, it's not uncommon to find used books, vinyl records, prints, ceramics, vintage linens, and many other objects that tell stories of the past.
The market is organized by the Pro Loco of Budrio, which manages the monthly event and enlivens its calendar throughout the year. Incanti e Mercanti has become a reference point for antique lovers in the metropolitan area of Bologna, attracting visitors from neighbouring towns in the plain. For those who enjoy leisurely browsing, it's also an opportunity to discover Budrio, a town known for its historic centre and its musical tradition linked to the ocarina.
The event takes place every third Sunday of the month, from early morning. During the summer months of June, July, and August, the market is held only in the morning; for the rest of the year, it continues all day. Admission is always free.
The 2026 edition of Incanti e Mercanti continues the monthly event that has enlivened the historic centre of Budrio every third Sunday of the month for years. The dates for the season include, among others, March 15th, April 19th, May 17th, and June 21st, 2026. The exhibition route winds through Piazza Filopanti, Via Bissolati, Via Marconi, Via Verdi, and Piazza Matteotti, up to Piazzale della Gioventù.
As it is a market, there is no artistic program: the "program" is the exhibition itself, with about 250 stalls of antiques, modern items, vintage, reuse, hobbies, and the garage sale corner. Admission is free. In June, July, and August, the hours are reduced to the morning only.
Incanti e Mercanti is an antique market and does not feature a show program: the attraction is the display of stalls in the historic centre.
The calendar continues every third Sunday in other months of the year as well. Hours: from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM (in the summer months of June, July, and August, only in the morning, until 1:00 PM). For updated dates and confirmation in case of bad weather, please contact the Pro Loco of Budrio.
Budrio is located in the plain northeast of Bologna, in Emilia-Romagna. By car, it can be reached via the SP5 San Vitale; the market occupies the historic centre, so it's best to park in the surrounding areas and continue on foot. By train, Budrio station is served by the Bologna-Portomaggiore railway line (metropolitan service), a short walk from the market squares.
Every third Sunday of the month. Approximate hours from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM; in the summer months (June, July, August) only in the morning, until 1:00 PM. It is advisable to check if the event is taking place in case of bad weather.
Free.
