A musical ritual at daybreak in the seaside garden of the Pino Pascali Museum

The "InCanti diVersi" Dawn Concert is one of the most poetic events of the summer in Polignano a Mare, in the Metropolitan City of Bari, Puglia. Every year, on a late August morning, the public gathers at the first light of day in the seaside garden of the Pino Pascali Museum, overlooking the Eremita rock, to witness an event that blends music, words, and community.
This is not just a simple concert: it is a collective ritual that guides spectators from the darkness of night to the light of dawn. With no stage or barriers, the musicians play immersed in nature, while the sun slowly rises over the Adriatic, turning the landscape into a living stage.
The event was born in memory of Davide Gaetano D'Accolti, a young musician and student from Bari who passed away in a road accident in 2016. The Musica d'InCanto Association, which organizes the concert, is named after him, transforming grief into shared beauty. Each edition thus becomes an act of remembrance and rebirth, where art and music "can continue to keep alive what we have loved."
The hallmark of the event is its multidisciplinary nature: alongside performances by national and international musicians, there is space for poetic readings, spiritual reflections, and life stories. The program alternates between jazz, pop, and intimate atmospheres in a continuous dialogue between sound, silence, and speech. Each edition hosts a "testimony of light," a voice sharing stories of resilience and rebirth.
The Pino Pascali Museum Foundation provides its garden overlooking the sea, one of the iconic spots of Polignano. The natural setting, with the Eremita rock in the background, eliminates all artificial staging, allowing the sea and the morning light to compose the atmosphere. The initiative is supported by the Municipality of Polignano a Mare and the collaboration of the Chiesa Matrice.
The Dawn Concert is free to attend, designed as an inclusive and participatory moment open to the entire community and visitors alike. It is a unique opportunity to experience Polignano a Mare in an unusual and silent guise, far from the summer mass tourism, and to start the day with an artistic and emotional experience that is hard to forget.
