Nel Cuore, Nell'Anima – Ritratti d'Autore in Musica e Parole (In the Heart, In the Soul – Author Portraits in Music and Words) is one of the most beloved cultural reviews of the summer in San Benedetto del Tronto, in the Province of Ascoli Piceno, in the Marche region. The event offers a series of evening appointments that blend concerts, storytelling, and theatre, dedicated each time to great singer-songwriters, musical periods, or iconic figures of Italian song. The "author portrait" formula is the distinctive feature of the review: not simple concerts, but narratives where live music alternates with words, anecdotes, and collective memory.

The Paese Alto, a Natural Stage

The heart of the review is Piazza Bice Piacentini, in the so-called Paese Alto, the historic medieval core of San Benedetto del Tronto perched on the hill and overlooking the sea. The intimate and evocative square becomes an open-air amphitheatre where the audience watches the shows in a secluded atmosphere, far from the noise of the seafront. In case of bad weather, the events move to the Teatro Concordia.

The 2026 Program: The Ninth Edition

The 2026 edition, the ninth, confirms the review's commitment to combining cultured and popular music, narration, and tribute. Four evenings are scheduled, all starting at 9:30 PM:

• July 5 – Gino Castaldo and Ema Stokholma with "'80s vs '90s", a musical and generational comparison between two decades.
• July 14 – Pacifico with a tribute to Ornella Vanoni, "Sentimental Diary of a Free Woman".
• July 21 – Federico Buffa and Cesare Pomarici in "The Future is Half an Hour Away", dedicated to the last hours of Lucio Dalla.
• July 31 – Stefano Fresi with "Of Love, of War, and of the Last Ones", a tribute to Fabrizio De André.

A Project by the Municipality and AMAT

The review is promoted by the Municipality of San Benedetto del Tronto together with AMAT (Marchigiana Association of Theatre Activities), with the contribution of the Ministry of Culture and the Marche Region. Over the years, "Nel Cuore, Nell'Anima" has hosted prominent names from the Italian music and theatre scene, consolidating itself as one of the quality events of the Piceno summer.

Atmosphere and Territorial Identity

More than a calendar of concerts, the review is an invitation to experience the Paese Alto in an evening and poetic guise: the stones of the village, the alleys, and the square come alive with music and words, while from the belvedere the view extends to the Adriatic coast. It is an opportunity to discover the less touristy and more authentic face of the Riviera delle Palme.
