Local meats and craft beers in the heart of Bracciano
In Bocca al Luppolo is the summer event that combines a passion for craft beer and high-quality grilled meat in the historic center of Bracciano, an elegant village overlooking the lake of the same name in the province of Rome, Lazio. The event takes place in Piazza Mazzini, known by locals as the Castle Square due to its proximity to the majestic Odescalchi Castle, a scenic backdrop that makes the event even more evocative as evening falls.
The heart of the festival lies in the food stalls set up by the volunteers of the Rione Monti: the stars are local meats prepared according to tradition, from grilled dishes to regional specialties, served alongside a selection of craft and farm-brewed beers. The marriage of hops and the genuine flavors of Lazio cuisine gives the event its name and defines its spirit: simple, authentic, and convivial.
In Bocca al Luppolo is organized by the Rione Monti Association, an organization that has been enlivening the social and cultural life of Bracciano since 1966 with a busy calendar of events throughout the year: from the Bracciano Carnival to the Passion of Christ, and from the Mushroom Festival to Castles and Chestnuts. In Bocca al Luppolo represents the most festive moment of the summer, attracting families, young people, and beer enthusiasts from Bracciano and neighboring towns.
Located along the southern shore of Lake Bracciano, the Municipality of Bracciano is one of the most beloved destinations in the Roman countryside, blending nature, history, and gastronomy. Attending In Bocca al Luppolo is also the perfect opportunity to explore the medieval village, stroll through the narrow streets of the center, and enjoy the view over the lake, combining the pleasures of the table with the beauty of one of the most characteristic territories in Lazio.
The craft beer festival of Bracciano returned on June 12 and 13, 2026 in Piazza Mazzini, known as the Castle Square. As per tradition, the Rione Monti stands offered local meats cooked over embers and a rich selection of craft beers, in a festive atmosphere enlivened by summer evening music at the foot of the Odescalchi Castle.
Bracciano is approximately 40 km from Rome. By car, it can be reached via the Via Braccianese or the A12 motorway, taking the exit towards the lake. By train, Bracciano station is served by the FL3 regional line (Rome-Viterbo) and is just a few minutes' walk from the historic center and Piazza Mazzini.
Admission to the festival area is free. You only pay for what you consume at the food stalls and beer taps.
The event takes place outdoors during summer evenings: it is advisable to arrive early to secure a seat at the tables. Combine your visit with a tour of the Odescalchi Castle and a walk along the Bracciano lakefront.
