The event, traditionally scheduled for May 1st, combines a passion for cycling with the discovery of a landscape defined by charming villages, vineyards, and hilly panoramas.

The race is part of the prestigious Alpi Superprestige Tricolore circuit, serving as one of its seasonal stages. It is a medium-distance road cyclotouring event with a timed section, reserved for road bikes: a format that allows both those seeking a competitive challenge against the clock and those who prefer a leisurely ride to enjoy the day at their own pace. The start is located at the Oratorio dell'Allegria on Via Cattaneo, the organizational heart of the event.

Organization and tradition

Behind the Il Gigante Trophy is the hard work of A.S.D. Agrate Conturbia, a cycling club that has long promoted "free and clean cycling," and ACSI Ciclismo Novara, which manages the rankings and federal classification. Registrations are handled online via the ACSI Ciclismo Novara portal in the days leading up to the race. The event is much more than just a race: it is a celebration for the community of Agrate Conturbia and the entire Piedmontese amateur cycling movement, which gathers here every spring to kick off the granfondo season.
