A food and wine journey in the heart of Ciociaria
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
Every summer, in the heart of Ciociaria, the small town of Colle San Magno (Frosinone province, Lazio) opens its doors for "Il Borgo Racconta", a spectacular food and wine trail that transforms the entire historic center into an open-air museum where memories come to life. From Piazza Umberto I to the striking Medieval Tower, winding through the stone alleys of Via Roma, the village comes alive with lights, music, and aromas, offering visitors an intimate and authentic experience.
The evening's main theme is local cuisine. Along the route, stalls serve traditional peasant dishes: snails, soups, wild boar, and the village's signature sweets, such as pizza doce and spumetteโwhite biscuits once prepared for weddings. It is a culinary journey that tells the story and identity of a community, one bite at a time.
The food and wine trail is intertwined with the traditional celebrations in honor of Saint Roch and Saint Magnus, which mark the village's summer every year with moments of faith, devotion, and collective identity. The event is part of a rich summer calendar that includes fine food, local products, books, historical re-enactments, music, theater, and religious observances.
"Il Borgo Racconta" was born from the collaboration between the municipal administration, the Pro Loco, the Parish of Saint Magnus, and local associations. In recent years, the event has also been supported by the Ministry of Culture's "Borghi" grant, which has helped enhance the historical heritage and traditions of this corner of Ciociaria.
Perched on the slopes of the mountains overlooking the valley, Colle San Magno is one of those villages that preserves the charm of the Lazio hinterland. Its stone historic center, medieval tower, and quiet alleys make it the ideal setting for a festival that celebrates slow living, conviviality, and the deep bond between the village and those around the world who still feel like a true "collacciano".
The 2026 edition of "Il Borgo Racconta" has not yet been officially announced. The event takes place every year in Colle San Magno, in the province of Frosinone, around the mid-August holiday, continuing the tradition of the food and wine trail in the historic center. Definitive information regarding dates, times, and the program will be communicated by the Municipality of Colle San Magno in the weeks leading up to the event.
