High-altitude music among the Pale di San Martino, at 1,086 meters
In Sagron Mis, the easternmost municipality of Trentino, the I Suoni delle Dolomiti festival finds one of its most evocative settings: the Giasenei locality, at an altitude of 1,086 meters, nestled at the foot of the Pale di San Martino and the Cimonega Group in the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage Dolomites. Here, in a natural amphitheater embraced by mountain peaks, great international music meets the alpine landscape in a ritual renewed every year at the end of summer.
I Suoni delle Dolomiti is the historic high-altitude music festival organized by Trentino Marketing, which since 1995 has brought world-renowned artists to the meadows, mountain huts, and peaks of Trentino. The concerts are held outdoors, often at midday, following short hikes or accessible via public transport, and are almost all free of charge. In Sagron Mis, the festival offers an annual event that has become a recurring highlight of its calendar, set in one of the most authentic valleys of the Primiero region.
The Giasenei locality is a small jewel nestled between forests and dolomite walls. Nearby, trails wind through the landscape, telling stories of past human activity, including ancient mercury and gold mines, while the Chalet Giasenei and the T3 Tower—an observation point with a climbing wall and a telescope for night sky viewing—testify to the site's sustainable and contemplative vocation. It is a remote yet increasingly valued location, capable of offering a rare listening experience suspended between music and nature.
One of the most precious aspects of the Sagron Mis event is its accessibility: the concert is designed to be reached and enjoyed by people with motor and hearing impairments, with dedicated inclusive services and assistance from the parking area. Music in the Dolomites thus becomes an experience open to everyone, without barriers.
Attending a concert of I Suoni delle Dolomiti in Sagron Mis means experiencing the mountains in a different way: music blends with the wind, the light, and the silhouette of the Pale di San Martino in a dialogue that touches deep chords. In the municipality of Sagron Mis, in Trentino-Alto Adige, this event represents one of the most poetic moments of the entire cultural season in the Dolomites.
The 31st edition of I Suoni delle Dolomiti (August 24 - October 3, 2026) brings a concert to Sagron Mis, in the Giasenei locality at an altitude of 1,086 meters, scheduled for Saturday, September 19, 2026, at 12:00 PM.
Taking the natural stage at the foot of the Pale di San Martino are trumpeter Lucienne Renaudin Vary and accordionist Félicien Brut, two performers capable of combining virtuosity, passion, and expressive freedom. Their musical dialogue, with a jazz flair, crosses genres and traditions in a surprising encounter between trumpet and accordion.
The concert is free of charge and designed to be accessible to people with motor and hearing impairments, with catering services available on-site. For those interested, there is also the possibility of a mountain bike excursion with local guides.
The Giasenei locality in Sagron Mis can be reached by car or via Trentino Trasporti public buses from Fiera di Primiero, via Passo Cereda (approx. 20 minutes). From Primiero, follow the road for about 12 km towards Passo Cereda / Sagron Mis, then turn towards Mis. It is also possible to arrive from the Belluno area via the SP347 or SP2 roads, or from Agordo (approx. 23 km).
The concert is free to attend. For accessibility services (for people with motor and hearing impairments), booking via the festival secretariat is recommended.
The concert takes place at midday outdoors: we recommend wearing layered clothing, comfortable shoes, and sun protection. In case of bad weather, the event will be moved to an indoor venue in the Primiero valley floor.
