About Honey Festival

At the end of May, Monteleone di Spoleto (PG), the highest municipality in Umbria at an altitude of one thousand metres, celebrates its beekeeping tradition with the Honey Festival. A day dedicated to the flavours of the territory, nature, and local traditions of Valnerina, with stands in the square and products from the woods and mountains taking centre stage.

The honey of the Umbrian mountains

The Honey Festival of Monteleone di Spoleto is dedicated to local honey production, one of the excellences of this mountain territory. The village, in the province of Perugia, is the highest municipality in Umbria, located at about a thousand metres above sea level in the upper Valnerina: an unspoiled environment, ideal for beekeeping and for products from the woods.

Flavours, nature, and traditions

The festival is an event dedicated to the flavours of the territory, nature, and local traditions. In the square, stands offer honey and typical products from Valnerina, in a village festival atmosphere that enhances the bond between the community and its natural environment.

Discovering Monteleone

The event is also an opportunity to discover Monteleone di Spoleto, a village rich in history (famous for the celebrated Etruscan chariot found in its territory) and for its Farro DOP, the only European cereal with DOP certification. An authentic destination in the heart of the Umbrian mountains, far from mass tourist routes.
