The magic school comes alive in the medieval village of Grazzano Visconti
Harry and the Magic of Grazzano is the fantasy-themed event that each spring transforms the neo-medieval village of Grazzano Visconti, part of the municipality of Vigolzone in the province of Piacenza, into a grand magic school inspired by the Harry Potter universe. For an entire day, the cobbled streets, shops, and small squares of the village welcome young wizard apprentices and enthusiasts of all ages, in an immersive experience designed primarily for families.
Children, after donning their magic school uniforms, are sorted into one of the four Houses and guided along a narrative path that winds through the various themed areas of the village. The program includes lessons on spells and potions, skill challenges, games, and small missions to complete while strolling through the streets of Grazzano Visconti.
While the younger ones participate in the activities, adults and cosplay enthusiasts can freely visit the village, take photographs, and immerse themselves in the fantasy atmosphere that pervades every corner. The central hub of the days is Piazza Cortevecchia, the heart of the village, where stands and refreshment points are concentrated.
The backdrop for the event is one of the most picturesque villages in Emilia-Romagna. Grazzano Visconti was established at the beginning of the 20th century by Duke Giuseppe Visconti di Modrone, who had the village built in neo-Gothic and neo-medieval style around the 15th-century castle. Recognized as a "City of Art" by the Emilia-Romagna Region, the village offers a perfect natural setting for an event that plays with the charm of the Middle Ages and magic.
The event, curated by the Associazione Culturale Satyrnet, is now an anticipated appointment that draws families from all over the province of Piacenza and neighboring regions. Entry to the village remains free, while participation in the activities for children requires a pre-booked, limited-number ticket to ensure each young wizard has a well-managed experience without excessive waiting.
