The autumn equinox between wine, poetry, and traditions at the Ethnographic Museum of Santarcangelo
Every September, the park of the MET - Ethnographic Museum of the Traditions and Customs of the People of Romagna in Santarcangelo di Romagna hosts the Harvest Festival, a celebration of the autumn equinox and the grape harvest season. The event is part of the summer program MEET, a series of over a hundred events that animate the museum from June to September, and is organized by the Fo.Cu.S. - Fondazione Culture Santarcangelo in collaboration with the Pro Loco and the CEAS Valmarecchia.
The festival begins in the late afternoon with guided tours of the MET Storage, where local artifacts tell the story of the continuous dialogue between art, history, ethnography, and the community. The museum's garden becomes a space to rediscover: the CEAS Valmarecchia offers "The Landscape That Heals", an exploration of plants and their properties that can care for the body and spirit.
The Harvest Festival is also designed for families. For children, there are workshops with natural materials, outdoor discovery and play activities that introduce the younger generation to the rhythm of the seasons and the agricultural traditions of Romagna. Participation in workshops and tours generally requires booking.
As evening falls, the festival comes alive: the highlight is the tasting of wines from I Piccoli Vignaioli, a Santarcangelo winery that brings the authentic character of the Romagna hills to your glass. The wine is paired with the words of poetry and the notes of live music, in a convivial atmosphere that blends taste, culture, and human connection.
Included in the rich calendar of events that precede the historic Fiera di San Michele in Santarcangelo, the Harvest Festival is a genuine opportunity to experience the Municipality of Santarcangelo di Romagna and its Province of Rimini, in Emilia-Romagna, during the most evocative moment of the transition from summer to autumn. A sober event rooted in the territory, where the harvest tradition becomes a community celebration.
The Harvest Festival at MEET returns on Sunday, September 13, 2026, in the park of the MET - Ethnographic Museum of Santarcangelo di Romagna, as part of the summer program by Fo.Cu.S. - Fondazione Culture Santarcangelo. The day will recreate the spirit of the festival: memory, nature, and conviviality within the museum walls and its garden.
For 2026, guided tours of the museum's Storage are expected, along with garden explorations, workshops for the little ones, and in the evening, a wine tasting accompanied by poetry and music. The precise program, including times, guests, and booking methods, will be published by the organizers closer to the event.
Program to be defined. As in previous editions, the following are planned: guided tours of the MET Storage, garden exploration curated by CEAS Valmarecchia, workshops with natural materials for children, and in the evening, wine tasting with poetry and live music. Details and times will be communicated by Fo.Cu.S. before the event.
