Road cycling amidst the historic climbs of the Vicenza area
The Granfondo WHYsport Città di Valdagno is the major road cycling celebration in Valdagno, in the province of Vicenza. The start and finish are set in the heart of the city, in Piazza Verdi-Cavour, from where cyclists launch themselves towards the Vicenza mountains.
The event offers two courses: a long one of approximately 112 km (with about 2490 m of elevation gain) and a short one of approximately 78 km (about 1410 m of elevation gain). Both tackle legendary climbs in the area, from Recoaro Terme to Passo Xomo, amidst a landscape of parish churches, hamlets, and the Piccole Dolomiti mountains, making this granfondo a challenge as tough as it is spectacular.
The event combines a competitive race with a cycle-touring event, thus opening its doors to both competitors and enthusiasts who wish to cycle at their own pace. The typical granfondo services complete the offering: race pack, course marshals, and a final pasta party.
Beyond the sporting dimension, the Granfondo Città di Valdagno promotes the Agno Valley and the Vicenza area as a destination for cycle tourism, bringing hundreds of cyclists to its scenic roads every year.
The Granfondo WHYsport Città di Valdagno 2026 took place on Sunday, April 26, with assembly and start at Piazza Verdi-Cavour. The starting grid opened at 8:00 AM with the start at 9:00 AM.
