It's the GP Fabbi Imola, one of the most popular and well-attended youth cycling events on the entire national calendar, which each year attracts hundreds of budding athletes from all over Italy to the Municipality of Imola, in the province of Bologna, in the heart of Emilia-Romagna.

A celebration for young cyclists

The GP Fabbi is not just a race: it's a true celebration of youth sports. For two days, the Imola circuit hosts competitions for all categories of the Italian Cycling Federation's youth sector — the very young Giovanissimi (5-12 years old), the Esordienti (13-14 years old), the Allievi (15-16 years old), and the Juniores. Nearly a thousand participants attend, representing about a hundred sports clubs from over ten Italian regions: numbers that make the GP Fabbi a benchmark event for the national cycling talent pool.

The organization: Ciclistica Santerno Fabbi

Behind the event is Ciclistica Santerno Fabbi Imola, a club founded in 1995 and entirely run by volunteers. For thirty years, the club has been dedicated exclusively to youth cycling — road, MTB, and track — training boys and girls from 5 to 16 years old and achieving over 400 victories, including provincial, regional, and even a national track title. The GP Fabbi is its flagship event, organized right at the motorsport temple that is the Imola circuit.

Beyond competition, the GP Fabbi focuses on development through sport: discipline, commitment, and teamwork are the values the event instills in the youngest participants. In recent years, the event has also opened its doors to paracyclism, confirming an inclusive approach that goes beyond competition.
