Gnocchi Sbatui Festival

A dish, a community

The "gnochi sbatui" are much more than a first course: they represent the soul of the peasant cuisine of Lessinia, the mountainous territory north of Verona. A few simple ingredients – flour, water, Monte Veronese cheese, and melted butter – create a hearty dish that has fed generations of mountain dwellers. In Erbezzo, this tradition is celebrated every year with a festival that has surpassed its fortieth edition.

The festival at Palalinte

The heart of the event is the Palalinte, where the gnocchi of Lessinia are served for both lunch and dinner. A rich program revolves around the main dish: craft markets animate the village streets, the band plays in the square in the afternoon, and live music accompanies the evenings, which conclude with fireworks.

Tradition and hospitality

The festival is organized by the Pro Loco of Erbezzo, which manages every aspect with the typical passion of mountain communities. Among the collateral initiatives, activities related to the territory, such as the "Battesimo della Sella" (Saddle Baptism) at the local riding stable, are often included, designed to engage families and children.
