Chamber music masterclasses and concerts in the heart of Monferrato
The GlobArte Musical Workshops are a series of advanced training courses and chamber music concerts held in Conzano, a small hillside village in the Province of Alessandria, in the heart of the Casale Monferrato area in Piedmont. Promoted by the GlobArte Association, founded by cellist Silvio Righini together with a group of musicians, the event combines intensive masterclasses with performances open to the public, turning the village into a meeting place for young performers from all over Europe and beyond.
The core of the Musical Workshops is an advanced course dedicated to strings and chamber music, aimed primarily at students in the final years of their academic studies and young professionals starting their careers. The days are marked by individual lessons, quartet rehearsals, and collective study sessions, with a faculty of established musicians linked to major conservatories and orchestras.
The most anticipated moment for the Conzano community is the series of free public concerts that close the Musical Workshops, hosted in the Auditorium San Biagio, an evocative space housed in a restored church. Here, teachers and students perform together, offering expansive chamber music repertoires. The concerts, open to everyone, provide an opportunity for the audience to witness the results of intense study in an intimate and cozy atmosphere.
Conzano, overlooking the UNESCO-listed hills of Monferrato, offers the ideal setting for an event that makes quality and the closeness between artists and spectators its distinctive trait. The Musical Workshops enhance the bond between classical music and the territory, bringing the great chamber tradition into a village context, far from large concert halls but rich in warmth and authenticity. For classical music lovers, it is a precious appointment to discover new talents and breathe in art in a corner of Piedmont waiting to be savored.
