The Giro d'Italia, the historic Corsa Rosa, has chosen Voghera as the starting point for one of its stages. For the town in Oltrepò Pavese, in the province of Pavia, it was an opportunity to host one of the most followed sporting events in the world, with the start village, the hospitality area, and the commercial stands of the Giro caravan set up in the city center.
Stage towards Milan
The leg starting from Voghera is a flat stage heading to Milan, along the wide plains roads through Pavia and parts of the historic Milan-Sanremo route. A day designed for sprinters, which in Voghera transformed the city streets into a stage for sport and popular celebration.
A Celebration for the Whole City
Around the start, the Municipality of Voghera and RCS Sport animated the center with side events, stands, and entertainment, involving citizens and cycling enthusiasts from the entire region.
Giro d'Italia in Voghera — edition 2026
On May 24, 2026, Voghera hosted the start of the 15th stage of the 109th edition of the Giro d'Italia, the Voghera-Milan, 157 km, a completely flat stage for sprinters. The caravan started from the city center; Piazza Duomo hosted the hospitality area and the Giro's commercial stands. Among the side events, there were also cycling tourism initiatives related to the event.
