La Forma del Ritratto is a project dedicated to contemporary photography that takes place in Pavia, the capital of its province in Lombardy. Promoted by Still Fotografia and supported by the Cultural Policies of the Municipality, the project has established itself as a quality event for enthusiasts, students and image professionals. The second edition is dedicated to the theme of reportage.

Great names in photojournalism

The project opens with an inauguration at the Castello Visconteo which brings some of the most important contemporary photographers and photojournalists to Pavia. The public meetings offer the public the opportunity to engage with masters of the image who talk about their working methods and their experiences in documenting conflicts, humanitarian crises and stories of our time.

A journey through a season

La Forma del Ritratto is not a one-day event: it is a cycle that unfolds from spring to autumn, alternating meetings, workshops, mentoring and critical review sessions. The goal is to create a space for continuous dialogue, where documentary rigor and human sensitivity meet in visual storytelling.

The collective exhibition at the Broletto

The heart of the project is an open call open to photographers from all over the world, with particular attention to emerging talents and authors from the Pavia area, invited to interpret the theme of reportage. The selected works are gathered in a collective exhibition held in the autumn at the Palazzo Broletto, one of the symbolic buildings of Pavia's historic center. A journey that enhances author photography and links it to the city's locations.
