Independent rock and alternative music in the heart of Giovinazzo
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
The Giovinazzo Rock Festival (GRF) is one of the most enduring and beloved independent music events in Puglia. Born in the late nineties from the initiative of a group of young musicians and alternative music enthusiasts, it has reached over twenty editions in more than two decades, becoming a landmark for independent rock in the metropolitan city of Bari.
The festival takes place in the Town of Giovinazzo, a village overlooking the Adriatic Sea just a few kilometers from the regional capital. Its natural stage is Piazza San Salvatore, located in the charming historic center. The concerts are held outdoors under the summer stars with free admission: a formula that has made the festival deeply popular and rooted in the local community over the years.
The event is organized by the Arci Tressétt association, which has been promoting independent music across the region for years. Throughout its many editions, the Giovinazzo Rock Festival has hosted prominent national and international artists—including Caparezza, Brunori Sas, Nada, Giuliano Palma & The Bluebeaters, Marlene Kuntz, Bandabardò, Blonde Redhead, and Africa Unite—alongside dozens of emerging bands from Puglia and across Italy.
The festival is also a great opportunity to discover Giovinazzo, a town in the province of Bari known for its ancient village, small harbor, and Adriatic charm. During the festival nights, the music engages with the white stone of the historic center, offering an experience that blends culture, social life, and local heritage.
At the moment, the Arci Tressétt association has not yet announced the dates and program for the 2026 edition of the Giovinazzo Rock Festival. Given the long continuity of the event—over twenty editions—and its deep roots in the cultural life of Giovinazzo, a new appointment in the summer is in line with the festival's tradition. As soon as the official dates, exact location, and line-up are released, this page will be updated with all the program information.
Giovinazzo is located on the Adriatic coast, about 20 km northwest of Bari. By car: Take the SS16 Adriatica, exit Giovinazzo. By train: The Giovinazzo station is served by the Adriatic line (frequent connections with Bari and Molfetta). The nearest airport is Bari Karol Wojtyła, about 25 km away.
The concerts are held in Piazza San Salvatore, in the historic center of Giovinazzo. The area is pedestrianized and easily accessible on foot from the center.
The festival has historically been free of charge. We recommend checking the schedule and program on the official social media channels of Arci Tressétt and the Giovinazzo Rock Festival.
