About Giornate dell'Arte

Giornate dell'Arte is a free cultural event that brings Binetto, a small town in the Metropolitan City of Bari, Puglia, to life. Hosted in the grounds of Villa D'Amely Melodia, the town's municipal villa, the festival transforms the village into a large open-air workshop dedicated to local school children and teenagers. Through visual arts, photography, creative writing, and music, local artists guide the younger generation in exploring artistic expression, conveying a powerful message of creativity, sharing, and inclusion.

An art festival designed for the youth

Giornate dell'Arte is a cultural festival held in Binetto, a small town in the Metropolitan City of Bari, in the heart of Puglia. Originally created as an initiative for schools and children, the event focuses on kindergarten, primary, and secondary school students, inviting them to discover and experiment with various forms of art through completely free workshops.

Villa D'Amely Melodia, the heart of the event

The stage for the event is the Villa Comunale D'Amely Melodia, a green, multifunctional space that transforms into a large open-air studio for the occasion. Drawing tables, reading corners, photo sets, and music areas come to life along the villa's paths, creating an informal atmosphere that introduces children to art without barriers.

Workshops, artists, and creative languages

The Giornate dell'Arte program weaves together numerous disciplines: visual arts and painting, photography, creative writing with readings and storytelling, music, and first-aid education sessions. The workshops are led by artists, writers, photographers, and musicians active in the Puglia region, who dedicate their expertise to the youth. Each edition revolves around a core theme that bridges artistic expression with civic and social values.

A community project

Giornate dell'Arte is the result of a collaborative effort between the Municipality of Binetto, local schools, cultural associations, and the many volunteers who make the event possible. The event holds not only artistic value but also educational and community significance: it is an opportunity to strengthen a sense of belonging, showcase local talent, and pass on a passion for creativity and culture to new generations.

Binetto and Puglia

Located inland to the northwest of the regional capital, Binetto is part of the Metropolitan City of Bari and retains the intimate charm of small Puglian villages. Events like Giornate dell'Arte help keep the town's cultural life vibrant and integrate it into the rich calendar of events that characterizes Puglia, a land of traditions, hospitality, and strong identity.

Giornate dell'Arte — edition 2026

The third edition of Giornate dell'Arte took place in Binetto on Friday, June 12, and Saturday, June 13, 2026, at the Villa Comunale D'Amely Melodia. The chosen theme, "Creativity, inclusion, expression: art that unites," guided two days of free workshops dedicated to kindergarten, primary, and secondary school students, covering visual arts, photography, writing, and music.
