The food and wine festival celebrating the flavors of the Nebrodi mountains in the heart of Gioiosa Marea
Gioiosa Gustosa is the premier food and wine event in Gioiosa Marea, a charming seaside village in the province of Messina, overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea at the foot of the Nebrodi mountains. Every summer, for three evenings, the historic center and the central Piazza Cavour come alive with wooden stalls, vendors, and enticing aromas: a true culinary itinerary unfolds through the town streets, celebrating the authentic flavors of north-eastern Sicily.
The heart of the event lies in the dozens of exhibitors animating the village: local farmers, artisans, restaurateurs, and pastry chefs, joined by the Slow Food Presidia of the Nebrodi. Along the food and wine route, you can sample:
Alongside the tastings, there are workshops, exhibitions, cultural moments, and musical performances that keep the evenings lively until late.
Gioiosa Gustosa is more than just food and wine: every edition features concerts, folk groups, street performers, and themed meetings, creating a festive atmosphere that engages both residents and visitors. The event is organized by the Associazione Gioiosa Gustosa in collaboration with the Municipality of Gioiosa Marea, Slow Food, CNA Sicilia, and the Pro Loco, and has become one of the most anticipated summer events on the Tyrrhenian coast of Messina over the years.
Visiting Gioiosa Gustosa is also the perfect opportunity to discover Gioiosa Marea, its beaches, and the inland Nebrodi area. Admission is free, and the event, held in the town center, is easily accessible; shuttle services from nearby tourist resorts are often available during the evenings.
From July 24 to 26, 2026, Gioiosa Marea hosts the 13th edition of Gioiosa Gustosa, confirming the summer appointment with the food and wine festival of the Tyrrhenian coast of Messina. For three evenings, the historic center and Piazza Cavour transform into a culinary route with dozens of exhibitors, Nebrodi Slow Food Presidia, Sicilian street food, typical products, and local crafts.
As per tradition, tastings will be accompanied by musical performances, folk groups, street artists, and cultural moments. The detailed 2026 program, including the evening schedule and guests, will be published by the Associazione Gioiosa Gustosa in the weeks preceding the event. Admission is free.
The detailed program for the 2026 edition has not yet been published. The organization will announce the schedule for the three evenings, the exhibitors, and the musical guests in the weeks leading up to the event.
Based on previous editions, the event spans three evenings (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) starting in the evening: a food and wine route with dozens of stands, Nebrodi Slow Food Presidia, Sicilian street food, workshops, exhibitions, folk groups, street artists, and live concerts.
