Design at the heart of Genoa

Genova Design Week is the event that celebrates design and creativity in the heart of Genoa. Organised by DiDe – Distretto del Design, it has established itself in just a few years as one of the most dynamic events in the city's calendar, capable of enlivening the historic centre with a packed, widespread programme across palaces, squares, and urban spaces, from Via dei Giustiniani to the Old Port.

2026 Theme: Equilibrium

The seventh edition revolves around the theme "Equilibrium", understood as the search for harmony between opposing elements: tradition and innovation, form and function, and the relationship between humanity, environment, and technology. A common thread that runs through the entire programme and reflects design's vocation to unite aesthetics, sustainability, and functionality.

Over 140 events

The programme exceeds 140 events: 33 musical performances, 92 conferences and talks inside and outside the District, and a record 17 exhibitions. Among the recurring features are Container 03 with ten interior design scenarios set up in containers, the Designer Under 35 competition, and the Design Talk Festival. Among the new additions are F/A FakeAuthentic at Santa Maria di Castello, an exhibition on interior architecture in Liguria at Galleria Mazzini, and the PuntaSanLorenzo project, which reimagines Piazza San Lorenzo as a coastal landscape.

Design and urban regeneration

With over 120 exhibitors and dozens of architecture firms from all over Italy, Genova Design Week is more than just a showcase: it's a laboratory where design becomes a driver of urban regeneration, enhancing the heritage of Genoa's historic centre and projecting the city into the national and international design debate.
