Genoa's training camp in the Dolomites

For several seasons now, Genoa Cricket and Football Club has chosen Moena, the pearl of the Val di Fassa, as the venue for its summer pre-season training camp. In the heart of the Trentino Dolomites, at an altitude of approximately 1,200 meters, the Grifone prepares for the new season far from the city heat, in a natural setting that combines sport, mountain air, and hospitality. This event has become a fixed tradition of the Moena summer, transforming the small Trentino town for ten days into a meeting point for thousands of red-and-blue fans from all over Italy.

The headquarters: the Benatti Sports Center

The hub of the camp is the Carlo Benatti Sports Center in Moena, where the team holds its training sessions, typically twice a day. The sessions are open to the public: fans can watch from the stands and follow the work of the team led by their coach up close. Typical times are in the morning and late afternoon, with possible variations communicated daily by the club and the tourist office.

The Genoa Village and the town atmosphere

Next to the pitch, the Genoa Village is the true beating heart of the event for supporters: an entertainment area with music, games, the official red-and-blue shop, and numerous activities designed for families and children, including mini football-tennis tournaments and other leisure moments. The Village accompanies the entire duration of the camp with opening hours designed to let visitors enjoy the town from morning to night, between training sessions.

Friendly matches and team meetings

The sports program includes several pre-season friendly matches played in Moena, which serve as the first tests of the new season against professional and amateur opponents, in addition to the traditional internal match between Genoa A and Genoa B. To complete the experience, there are evening events in the valley's towns, where players and technical staff meet the public, and the Genoa Mountain Camp, the summer camp dedicated to children who wish to train following the club's values.

An event for the local area

The training camp is organized by Genoa CFC in close collaboration with the APT Val di Fassa, Trentino Marketing, and the Municipality of Moena, as part of an agreement linking the red-and-blue club to the Trentino valley. For Moena and the entire Val di Fassa, in the autonomous province of Trento and the Trentino-Alto Adige region, the event represents a significant tourist showcase that combines football passion with the discovery of the Dolomites, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
