Itineraries of taste in the hinterland of Pesaro and Urbino and in Montefeltro, with a stop in Mondavio
The Gastronomic Week Ends are a travelling event promoted and curated by Confcommercio Marche Nord together with FIPE — Pesaro Urbino Restaurateurs Association. Founded in the early eighties, it is today one of the longest-running and most successful events in the entire Marche region: the simple and winning formula focuses on the relationship between quality and price, inviting visitors — the so-called "gastronauts" — to explore the hinterland of the province of Pesaro and Urbino and Montefeltro by following the flavors of local cuisine.
Each season, the initiative involves dozens of restaurants distributed in numerous locations in the area. The participating establishments offer a typical set menu at a fixed and regulated price for the occasion, designed to showcase traditional Marche dishes without any surprises on the bill. The event is divided into two main seasons: the spring one, which accompanies weekends from April to June, and the autumn one, dedicated mainly to truffles, forest products, and new wines.
Among the locations featured on the itinerary is Mondavio, a small municipality in the Province of Pesaro and Urbino, in the Marche region. The village is famous for its imposing Rocca Roveresca fortress, a masterpiece of Renaissance military architecture designed by Francesco di Giorgio Martini and among the best-preserved in Italy. Stopping in Mondavio during the Gastronomic Week Ends means combining the pleasure of good food with the discovery of one of the most evocative villages in the Marche hinterland.
The town's restaurants participating in the event welcome visitors with traditional dishes: homemade pasta, meats, local products, and regional wines. The Mondavio stop has been a fixed date on the calendar for years, both in spring and autumn, when the Apennine truffle becomes the star.
More than a single event, the Gastronomic Week Ends are an invitation to slowly experience an entire territory: choose a village, book, and set off for a weekend of flavors, landscapes, and historical-artistic heritage.
The spring 2026 season of the Gastronomic Week Ends celebrates the 43rd year of one of the longest-running food and wine events in the Marche region. It involves 37 restaurants in 25 locations in the province of Pesaro and Urbino and Montefeltro, each with its own typical menu at a regulated price.
The last event of the spring is set for Sunday, June 7, 2026: among the concluding stops is Mondavio, with the Ristorante Maria (tel. 0721 976220 — 331 7877039). The day invites you on a journey through villages, hills, and dishes that tell the most authentic soul of the Marche land. To participate, direct booking with the restaurant is required.
Last event of the spring edition, with stops in several villages in the area. In Mondavio, the Ristorante Maria (tel. 0721 976220 — 331 7877039) participates, offering a typical Marche tradition fixed menu.
The complete menu for each restaurant and the guidebook with all the stops are published on the Confcommercio Marche Nord website. Direct telephone booking with the restaurant is mandatory, at least a couple of days in advance.
Mondavio is located in the hinterland of the Province of Pesaro and Urbino.
