A day of play in the heart of Gassino Torinese
Gassino Play is an event dedicated to analog gaming that takes over the historic center of Gassino Torinese, a town in the Metropolitan City of Turin, Piedmont. For an entire day, the arcades of Piazza Chiesa and the nearby Via Dovis are filled with tables, game boards, dice, pawns, miniatures, and cards: a true gaming village where adults, teenagers, and children can try out titles of all kinds, guided by volunteers from local associations.
What to play
The selection is designed to suit all tastes and ages, from fantasy to historical simulation, and from strategy to lighthearted party games. Activities are divided into three main categories:
- Modern board games: dozens of titles with diverse mechanics, explained and guided by volunteers, to discover the best of contemporary board gaming.
- Role-playing games: short sessions suitable even for beginners, to get into role-playing without needing any prior experience.
- Wooden games, including giant versions: a hands-on, immediate approach, perfect for younger children and group fun.
The featured associations
The heart of Gassino Play lies in the gaming communities of the Turin area, who contribute their time, their game collections, and their expertise. Participating associations include Il Giocaliffo – La Tana dei Goblin di Chivasso, Play Musiné, ToRisiKo!, Around the Game, La Taverna dei Meeple, La Compagnia della Fenice, G Lab – Sperimenta il tuo gioco, and Alfieri, along with other local gaming groups.
An event for the community
Promoted by the Pro Loco Gassino Torinese APS with the patronage of the Municipality of Gassino Torinese, the event was created with a clear goal: to offer a concrete opportunity to rediscover the value of shared time, away from screens, through direct and participatory experiences. The spirit is well summarized by the slogans of various editions, from "Smartphones only for photos" to the invitation to stay away from devices for at least one day. Gassino Play is much more than just a day of gaming: it is a moment of social connection and gaming culture for the entire community.
Gassino Play — edition 2026
The 2026 edition of Gassino Play brought a new day entirely dedicated to analog gaming to the center of Gassino Torinese. Between the arcades of Piazza Chiesa and Via Dovis, stations for board games, role-playing sessions for beginners, and large wooden games for all ages alternated, with volunteers from the associations guiding participants in discovering titles and mechanics.
The goal of the event, once again this year, was to rediscover the value of shared time away from screens through direct and participatory experiences.
