Three days of talks, books, and socialising on football as culture in Ascoli Piceno
Fuori dal Campo - Festival della Cultura del Calcio is born in Ascoli Piceno, in the Monterocco district: an event that focuses not on results or the transfer market, but on the human, social, and cultural dimension of Italy's favourite game. Conceived and organised by Polisportiva Borgo Solestà in close collaboration with Libreria Rinascita, the festival debuts with its first edition from June 5th to 7th, 2026, at the Campo Tonino Camaioni.
The underlying idea is simple and ambitious: to take football seriously as an object of culture. Three days of book presentations, meetings, and testimonials with journalists, authors, coaches, and protagonists from the world of sport, to reflect on football as a mirror of society, a tool for inclusion, and an opportunity for social interaction for an entire neighbourhood.
The festival venue is the Campo Tonino Camaioni, the sporting heart of the Monterocco district, in Ascoli Piceno, the capital of the province of the same name in the southern Marche region. Here, Polisportiva Borgo Solestà has been enlivening the district's life for years, and with Fuori dal Campo, it expands its commitment to sports culture, transforming a suburban field into a place for public debate open to all.
The festival intertwines with the Polisportiva's celebration: alongside cultural events, initiatives that have always built community come to life, from the Pizza Festival to youth tournaments, to integrated football matches.
The 2026 programme alternates reflections on the relationship between design, sport, and inclusion with presentations of highly anticipated books. Among the announced guests are Sky Sport journalists Maurizio Compagnoni and Vanessa Leonardi, expected for an evening of stories and testimonials, and journalist and commentator Riccardo Cucchi, a historic radio voice, with his "Un altro calcio è ancora possibile" (Another football is still possible). There is also space for the book "A corto muso" by Giuseppe Alberto Falci dedicated to Massimiliano Allegri and sports communication.
Fuori dal Campo is not just words: the festival hosts the Second Padre Paolo Storani Memorial, a youth tournament, and the initiative "Facciamo Goal alla Disabilità" (Let's Score Goals Against Disability), with integrated football matches organised with Third Sector associations. This confirms an event that uses football as a language for participation and social cohesion, in a true neighbourhood spirit.
The first edition of Fuori dal Campo brings three days dedicated to football as culture to Ascoli Piceno, organised by Polisportiva Borgo Solestà with Libreria Rinascita. Alongside cultural events, the Campo Tonino Camaioni hosts the Pizza Festival, the Second Padre Paolo Storani Memorial, and the "Facciamo Goal alla Disabilità" integrated football initiative.
The festival is held at Campo Tonino Camaioni, in the Monterocco district of Ascoli Piceno (province of Ascoli Piceno, Marche). The opening event on May 25th will take place at Libreria Rinascita, in Piazza Roma, in the historic centre.
Ascoli Piceno can be reached by car from the Ascoli-Mare motorway junction (connected to the A14 at San Benedetto del Tronto) and by train to Ascoli Piceno station. The Monterocco district is a short distance from the centre.
Talks and presentations are free to attend. During the evenings, the Pizza Festival will be active in the field area.
