The Fuochi d'Artificio sul Lago di Alleghe (Fireworks on Lake Alleghe) are one of the most beloved summer events in the Belluno Dolomites. The tradition dates back to 1970 and is renewed every year around Ferragosto, in the heart of the summer in Alleghe, in the province of Belluno, at the foot of Monte Civetta.
The mirror effect on the lake
What makes this show unique is the mirror effect: the fireworks are launched from multiple platforms placed on Lake Alleghe and their colours are reflected on the calm water, doubling the explosion of lights. In some editions, the evocative parade of illuminated boats also returns, preceding the pyrotechnic moment.
The Ferragosto celebration
The free-admission show generally takes place in the late evening and gathers tourists and residents on the lake shores to celebrate Ferragosto in one of the most beautiful settings in the UNESCO Dolomites. In case of intense bad weather, the event is postponed to the following day.

Alleghe is reached via the SS203 Agordina (about 40 km from Belluno). The lake shores are the observation points for the fireworks.
