Techno, art, nature, and accessibility in the world's largest maze
Frega Festival โ Sensitive Dance Floor is an event dedicated to electronic music that takes place in a truly unique setting: the Labirinto della Masone in Fontanellato, in the province of Parma, in the heart of Emilia-Romagna. Conceived by architect and collector Franco Maria Ricci, the maze covers seven hectares with over 200,000 bamboo plants up to fifteen meters high, laid out in a star shape: it is the world's largest bamboo maze and serves as a natural backdrop for a day of techno, art, and nature.
More than just a music event, Frega Festival is a project curated by the association Frega Project APS and revolves around the Sensitive Dance Floor manifesto. The stated goal is to make clubbing more accessible, inclusive, and aware: every ticket purchased helps fund the association's real projects. The organizers describe the festival not as a conventional event, but as an evolving process, where artists are active participants in a larger ecosystem of music, art, and care for people.
Accessibility is the festival's distinctive feature. Already in its first edition in 2025, the event welcomed over 200 people with disabilities in a custom-designed environment. For the second edition, the welfare team is expanded and includes:
The second edition features an international lineup headlined by Nina Kraviz, alongside Alarico, Philippa Pacho, Blind Date, the b2b set between LPV and Mattia Kovรคl, Gabriele Capponi, the live set by Pre Silent, and Rorschack. A selection spanning techno and electronic experimentation, designed to accompany the audience from the afternoon until the early morning hours.
Frega Festival celebrates one of Emilia-Romagna's most surprising locations, combining the cultural heritage of the Labirinto della Masone with a contemporary musical offering. The event is for adults only and requires free registration as a member of Frega Project APS, which can be done via a simple online form.
