A day of sports, games, and creativity in Verolengo
The Free Time Festival is one of the most anticipated spring events in Verolengo, a small town on the Po plain in the Province of Turin, Piedmont. The core idea behind the event is simple and generous: to celebrate leisure time as a resource for personal growth, social connection, and community building. For one full Sunday, the grounds around the local middle school, with entrance from Via Rosselli, turn into a large open-air laboratory dedicated to sports, culture, and creativity.
The heart of the festival is the opportunity to try out dozens of different disciplines for free. Throughout the area, you will find stations where you can test your skills in skateboarding, climbing, basketball, tennis, dance, roller skating, and kickboxing, all guided by local instructors and associations. Spectacular BMX and mountain bike performances punctuate the day, while younger visitors can enjoy creative workshops and animated readings in the amphitheater.
Alongside sports, the cultural and recreational aspects are equally important: spaces dedicated to music, books, comics, and board games, a hobby market, and the Verolengo Brick Expo, an area entirely dedicated to LEGO constructions with workshops and competitions for children.
The Free Time Festival is organized by the Pro Loco Mansio Quadrata and is supported by the Piedmont Region, the Piedmont Regional Council, the Metropolitan City of Turin, the Municipality of Verolengo, and the UNPLI. The food pavilion, managed in collaboration with the Coscritti, ensures the perfect convivial break between activities. It is a day when the entire town gets involved, and the urban space becomes a ground for shared experiences, all in the spirit of fun and togetherness.
The 2026 edition of the Free Time Festival brought Verolengo to life on Sunday, April 19, confirming the success of this event dedicated to leisure time. The middle school area, with entrance from Via Rosselli, hosted a great celebration of sports, culture, and creativity from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, aimed at families and young people, with the patronage of the Piedmont Region, the Metropolitan City of Turin, the Municipality of Verolengo, and the UNPLI.
