Fiorissimo at the Castle: Spring blooms in Novara
Fiorissimo at the Castle is the major market exhibition for floriculture, gardening, and craftsmanship that brings the Castello Visconteo Sforzesco of Novara to life every spring, located in the heart of the Piedmontese city. For three days, the medieval fortress becomes a true Flowering Courtyard, a temporary garden where architectural history meets a passion for greenery and nature.

The exhibition is divided into several thematic spaces occupying the castle and its walkways:
- Corte Fiorita (Flowering Courtyard): The heart of the event, featuring Italian nurserymen and collectors showcasing common plants, rare and exotic varieties, and expert advice on garden care.
- Mura Market: A space dedicated to high-quality craftsmanship, natural products, and sustainable farms along the castle walls.
- Corte del Gusto (Taste Courtyard): The refreshment area featuring local food and wine specialties.
- Green Arena: A space hosting conferences, laboratories, workshops, and guided tours.
Laboratories, workshops, and conferences
Alongside the market, Fiorissimo offers a rich schedule of activities for adults and children: practical workshops such as creating kokedama (hanging plants), labs on herbs, perfumes, stamps, and natural paints, as well as conferences dedicated to biodiversity, forest therapy, and botanical culture. Don't miss the guided tours to discover the history of the castle, organized in collaboration with the FAI Delegation of Novara.

Organized by Nova Eventi with the patronage of the Municipality of Novara, the Province of Novara, and the ATL of the Province of Novara, Fiorissimo at the Castle has become one of the most anticipated spring events in Novara and Upper Piedmont, successfully combining the enhancement of local historical heritage with the promotion of Italian floriculture.

Fiorissimo — edition 2026
The 2026 edition of Fiorissimo at the Castle, the ninth of the event, was held from Friday, March 27 to Sunday, March 29, 2026, at the Castello Visconteo Sforzesco in Novara, with the inauguration on Friday the 27th at 4:00 PM. The chosen theme was 'Nature that lives, Nature that unites', a common thread dedicated to nature as a moment of encounter and sharing.
As every year, the castle was organized into the areas of Corte Fiorita (nurserymen and collectors), Mura Market (craftsmanship and natural products), and Corte del Gusto (refreshment), while the Green Arena hosted kokedama workshops, labs on herbs, perfumes, and natural paints, conferences on biodiversity and forest therapy, and guided tours with the FAI Delegation of Novara.

Hours: every day from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM (last entry at 6:00 PM). Inauguration Friday, March 27 at 4:00 PM.

How to get there
The Castello Visconteo Sforzesco is located in the center of Novara, with the entrance at Piazza Martiri della Libertà. By train: Novara station is served by numerous connections from Milan and Turin, about a 15-minute walk from the castle. By car: Novara is easily accessible from the A4 Turin-Milan motorway.
