Christmas in the City of the Sforzas

Natale sotto la Torre is the Christmas holiday schedule for the Municipality of Vigevano, in the Province of Pavia. For about six weeks, from late November until Epiphany, the picturesque Piazza Ducale and the spaces of the Sforza Castle—including the evocative underground route of the Strada Sotterranea Nuova—host a packed program of events involving the entire historic center.

Ice Rink and Nativity Scenes in the Castle

Among the most beloved attractions is the ice rink set up in the Castle courtyard, open daily and suitable for children and adults. The Strada Sotterranea Nuova hosts the "Presepi in Castello" exhibition, with dioramas and large nativity scenes created by enthusiasts and artisans, including notably large works.

Markets, Lights, and Befana

Piazza Ducale becomes the pulsating heart of the festivities, with the characteristic Christmas market and the lights illuminating the historic arcades, while the center hosts artisan stalls and the Castle hosts exhibitions and cultural events. The calendar includes concerts, family activities, and the concluding event with Befana, marking the end of the holiday season.
