About Fiorimpopoli

Every May, the historic center of Forlimpopoli, in the province of Forlì-Cesena, transforms into a large flowery garden with Fiorimpopoli, the spring festival organized by the local AVIS with the patronage of the Municipality. Flower and plant exhibition, agricultural machinery fair, craft markets, concerts, theatrical performances, workshops for children, and dinners in the square liven up the streets and squares of the Romagnola town for three days, in a festive atmosphere that combines nature, culture, and community.

Three days of flowers, music, and community

Every year, in mid-May, Forlimpopoli celebrates the arrival of good weather with Fiorimpopoli, the spring festival that colors the heart of the town with flowers and plants. For three days, the historic center of the Municipality in the province of Forlì-Cesena, in Emilia-Romagna, fills with stalls, scents, and colors, becoming a large open-air garden between Piazza Garibaldi, Piazza Fratti, Piazza Trieste, and the surrounding streets.

A festival born from volunteering

Fiorimpopoli is organized by AVIS of Forlimpopoli with the patronage of the Municipality and is part of the BiodiversityFest calendar. The event has grown over time to become one of the most anticipated events of the Romagnola spring: the 2025 edition was the eighteenth. Behind the stalls and shows is the work of many local associations, from the Gemellaggi del Gusto to the Bonsai Club Forlì, which make Fiorimpopoli a festival deeply linked to the local community.

What to find at Fiorimpopoli

  • May in Bloom: the flower, plant, and gardening product exhibition-market that gives the festival its name;
  • the Agricultural Machinery and Equipment Fair, a historic attraction for the rural area of Romagna;
  • creative craft markets and a children's market;
  • concerts, theatrical and comedy shows, bonsai exhibitions, creative workshops, and play activities for families;
  • dinners and lunches in the square organized by associations, featuring the flavors of Romagnola cuisine;
  • the Flowers Runner, a non-competitive running event through the decorated streets.

Forlimpopoli, the city of Pellegrino Artusi

Forlimpopoli is known as the Artusi town, the homeland of Pellegrino Artusi, the father of modern Italian cuisine and author of La scienza in cucina e l'arte di mangiar bene (The Science of Cooking and the Art of Eating Well). Visiting Fiorimpopoli also means discovering a town with a compact historic center, dominated by the Rocca Albornoziana, and experiencing the hospitality and gastronomic culture that make this corner of Romagna famous.

Fiorimpopoli — edition 2026

The 2026 edition of Fiorimpopoli took place from May 8th to 10th in the historic center of Forlimpopoli. Three days of flower and plant exhibitions, agricultural machinery fair, markets, concerts, shows, and activities for children, organized by the local AVIS with the patronage of the Municipality and included in the BiodiversityFest calendar.

For the 2026 edition, Fiorimpopoli animated the historic center of Forlimpopoli from May 8th to 10th with the traditional May in Bloom, the fourteenth edition of the Agricultural Machinery and Equipment Fair in Piazza Trieste, the creative craft market, and numerous shows. Among the most anticipated moments were the evening concerts, the shows for families, and the second edition of the Flowers Runner, the non-competitive running race through the flowery streets. This year again, the festival confirmed its link with volunteering and local associations.
