The spring festival in the historic center of the Artusi town
Every year, in mid-May, Forlimpopoli celebrates the arrival of good weather with Fiorimpopoli, the spring festival that colors the heart of the town with flowers and plants. For three days, the historic center of the Municipality in the province of Forlì-Cesena, in Emilia-Romagna, fills with stalls, scents, and colors, becoming a large open-air garden between Piazza Garibaldi, Piazza Fratti, Piazza Trieste, and the surrounding streets.
Fiorimpopoli is organized by AVIS of Forlimpopoli with the patronage of the Municipality and is part of the BiodiversityFest calendar. The event has grown over time to become one of the most anticipated events of the Romagnola spring: the 2025 edition was the eighteenth. Behind the stalls and shows is the work of many local associations, from the Gemellaggi del Gusto to the Bonsai Club Forlì, which make Fiorimpopoli a festival deeply linked to the local community.
Forlimpopoli is known as the Artusi town, the homeland of Pellegrino Artusi, the father of modern Italian cuisine and author of La scienza in cucina e l'arte di mangiar bene (The Science of Cooking and the Art of Eating Well). Visiting Fiorimpopoli also means discovering a town with a compact historic center, dominated by the Rocca Albornoziana, and experiencing the hospitality and gastronomic culture that make this corner of Romagna famous.
For the 2026 edition, Fiorimpopoli animated the historic center of Forlimpopoli from May 8th to 10th with the traditional May in Bloom, the fourteenth edition of the Agricultural Machinery and Equipment Fair in Piazza Trieste, the creative craft market, and numerous shows. Among the most anticipated moments were the evening concerts, the shows for families, and the second edition of the Flowers Runner, the non-competitive running race through the flowery streets. This year again, the festival confirmed its link with volunteering and local associations.
Fiorimpopoli takes place every year in May, over a long weekend (Friday-Sunday), in the historic center of Forlimpopoli.
By car: take the Forlì exit from the A14 motorway, then the SS9 Via Emilia towards Cesena. By train: Forlì or Cesena station, connected to Forlimpopoli by bus. The nearest airport is Bologna.
Access to the festival and the exhibition-markets is free. Dinners, lunches in the square, and any registration for the Flowers Runner are subject to a fee.
