The summer festival dedicated to handmade pasta from Finale Emilia
In the heart of summer in Finale Emilia, a municipality in the Province of Modena overlooking the Panaro river, the Finale Tagliatelle Festival celebrates the signature dish of Emilian tradition: tagliatelle rolled by hand with a rolling pin, the pride of the azdore (local women pasta makers) of this corner of the Bassa. Born in 2024 on the initiative of the Pro Loco Finale Emilia, the festival has in a few years become one of the most anticipated gastronomic events of late summer, attracting visitors from all over the Modenese lowlands and the neighboring provinces of Ferrara and Bologna.
The food stand, set up under the cover of the Alcide De Gasperi Public Gardens, opens every evening from 7:00 PM (for lunch and dinner on holidays). The absolute star is, of course, tagliatelle, offered in numerous variations that change from edition to edition: from traditional meat ragรน to versions with pancetta and caramelized onion, guanciale and peas in gorgonzola cream, zucchini and shrimp, or pumpkin and mushrooms. Alongside the first courses, there are second courses from Emilian cuisine, such as beef straccetti with balsamic vinegar, breaded cutlet with fries, and saltimbocca, as well as homemade desserts, from tagliatelle cake to zabaglione.
The festival is not just about good food: each evening offers a free entertainment program with live concerts, tribute bands, talent shows for kids, and DJ sets. Among the most beloved moments is the election of Miss Tagliatella, a fun fashion show open to everyone, from children to the elderly, which precedes the grand musical finale on the last evening. A mix of tradition and fun that makes the event suitable for families, young people, and groups of friends.
Promoted by the Pro Loco with the patronage of the Municipality of Finale Emilia, the festival is an event entirely managed by volunteers, with proceeds supporting local promotion activities. Participating means tasting an authentic product and contributing to the life of the local community, in one of the many festivals that liven up the summer in Emilia-Romagna.
From August 27th to 31st, 2026, the Alcide De Gasperi Public Gardens in Finale Emilia will host the third edition of the Finale Tagliatella Festival, organized by the Pro Loco. The covered food stand opens from 7:00 PM on weekdays and also for lunch on holidays, featuring handmade tagliatelle in many variations and traditional Emilian dishes. Each evening, a free entertainment event concludes the night, leading up to the grand finale with the Miss Tagliatella fashion show.
