A fair that tells the roots of Passo Ripe

The Fiera di Sant'Antonio is one of the most cherished events by the community of Trecastelli, a municipality in the province of Ancona, in the Marche region. It takes place in the hamlet of Passo Ripe, along via Fornace, and celebrates the feast of Saint Anthony with a traditional open-air market that has marked the beginning of summer in the Marche for generations.

Between devotion and popular tradition

The fair stems from the deep bond between the territory and the figure of Saint Anthony, a recurring event that intertwines religious tradition, cultural identity, and community spirit. Like many patron saint fairs in the province of Ancona, the one in Passo Ripe has its roots in an ancient custom: the saint's feast day became an opportunity to bring together merchants, farmers, and inhabitants from the surrounding areas in a large open-air market.

For a morning, via Fornace transforms into a path of stalls where you can browse and shop in a festive summer atmosphere. Among the stands, you'll find a bit of everything:

Trecastelli and the hamlet of Passo Ripe

Born in 2014 from the merger of the municipalities of Ripe, Monterado, and Castel Colonna, Trecastelli is a spread-out municipality made up of villages and hamlets, each with its own traditions. Passo Ripe, along the route connecting the hinterland to the Senigallia coast, is one of the liveliest centers, and the Fiera di Sant'Antonio is one of its most cherished expressions.
