The Fiera della Natività della Beata Vergine Maria, also known as Settembre Fiessese, is the historic fair of Fiesso Umbertiano, a municipality in the province of Rovigo in the Polesine region. With over 140 editions, it is one of the oldest and most rooted fairs in the Rovigo area, linked to the feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the town's patron saint, celebrated on September 8th.
Funfair, flavours, and shows
For more than ten days, the town experiences a festive atmosphere: every evening the large funfair and the food stand in Via Verdi, with dishes from the Polesine tradition — mixed fried fish, truffle risotto, paella, cod, grilled meats, skewers, stuffed pasta, and porchetta. The programme includes exhibitions, dance performances, demonstrations, clay pigeon shooting competitions, martial arts exhibitions, and the unmissable lottery with prizes.
September 8th celebrations
The religious heart of the fair is September 8th, the feast of the Nativity of Mary: mass in the morning, and in the afternoon the solemn mass with procession presided over by the Bishop of Adria-Rovigo. The event is coordinated by the Associazione Fiesso in Festa together with the municipal administration, and concludes with a solidarity dinner. An event that for generations has marked the calendar of Fiesso Umbertiano and the entire Polesine region.

Fiesso Umbertiano is located in the Polesine region, in the province of Rovigo. By car from the A13 (Occhiobello or Rovigo exit) or from the Via Eridania. The food stand is in Via Verdi.
